Soreworks and Earthstongue are the only 2 places I have ever had success with bags from, everywhere else they were bad when the got to me or turned quickly after, before inoculation...ET's are the best IME but they are expensive, though bigger than most.

Sporeworks is the only place I've bought spawn bags from. http://sporeworks.com/store/catalog/Large-Presealable-Autoclavable-Gusseted-Bulk-Spawn-Bags-p-16248.html
25 large spawn bags /w filter patch for about $20 /w shipping.
I picked up an impulse sealer from another sight to go with them. Super convenient and easy to use.
Mix up a batch of spawn, dump it in the bag. Seal it and PC it.
I make my own self-healing injection ports using silicone.
In fact, I just ordered some spawn bags the other night and they should be here today :-D
Decided to go the easier route and bought a tube of silicone caulk + caulk gun to make making 25 injection ports go a little quicker too.

Spawn bags,, Do it yourself. Saves you countless money and gives you the valuble hands on experience you need sampling all the different teks until you find which tek best suits you.

substrates yes, but imo they are alot easier to keep contam free.
I could have also said "material mycelium grows on". This counts for substrates, as well as for spawn.
Even proper sterilization is not a guarantee for no contams to appear. There's always a rest chance and it has shown over and over again, that it happens despite proper teks.
It's just not 100% safe.
yea but the vendors garantee that they are 100% sterile. so if they are not theyll just send me a new bag. lol

One way to look at it is a cost-benefit analysis.
The Mad Season sells 10 bags for $86 + shipping. Each bag has about 2 lbs of substrate in it.
Based on how much my spawn bags weigh I'd guesstimate that's approximately 2 quarts of spawn material.
I haven't decided on an optimal cake size using spawn bags but it's somewhere in the 3 to 6 quart range.
For about $500 (rough estimate) you could set up your own workshop to make spawn bags.
Just a quick example:
Pressure Cooker: AA 921, $200 50 Large Spawn bags, $35 8" impulse Sealer: $40 4 cubic foot bag of vermiculite: $35 40lb bag of WBS: $12
Leaving about $80 for a shotgun terrarium or three and misc supplies like perlite, syringes, lme for liquid cultures, food dehydrator etc.
Then you'd have enough to do 50 spawn bags and it would only cost about $100 to restock your expendable supplies.

I have tried just about every sponsor's pre-sterilized products. I am now sticking with Out-grow. The prices are good as they don't bother with the self-healing port. Shipping is fast. Also, I can tell they are more meticulous with production over most others I have used. I have a higher success rate since switching to OG.
With this hobby I already make enough mess of the house without fucking around with grains and a pressure cooker.

I've tried two places. One was every thing mushrooms, which worked very well. Its nice to order from a good sponsor like this cause you get too see how the grain should look when done right!
The other was a non-sponsor, which totally sucked. They claimed to use additives like bee pollen and some other stuff. They dicked around for about two weeks then finally sent me the couple of test bags. They were I think too dry and did not colonize fast enough. (I used the same spores on both).
I also got a free spawn bag from out-grow. Worked pretty well, but did not have the self healing injector site. Not a huge thing, but it would nice if they had the option for them.

I'm glad to see you were successful with OG. Gonna try my first grow with them here shortly.
