So you can see the parallels between beavers and humans are striking.

Good conclusion. Well done!

You caught me off guard, I thought this was going to be an entirely different topic.  What was I thinking?

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Well, there is a lot of philosophy around errr beaver I think we should discuss this particular beaver if you know what I mean. Yeah I'd like that a good, long conversation about beavers and all their different aspects

There used to be giant beavers.
Can you imagine that?  Giant beavers?!
That would be some crazy shit, man!

Anyway.
Beavers, or Castor Canadawhatevers are some pretty cool critters.  I remember when I was little and my mom used to take me to this secluded section of the peninsula that we lived by.

We could never spot the beavers before they spotted us, but I remember seeing and hearing many a beaver's tail splah the surface of the water before it dove down to safety beneath the waves.

My mom would also always point out all the "beaver trees" around the area, which were actually tree stumps that had been gnawed to a point by a beaver who needed the tree to build his home.  I was always amazed by the size of the trees they took, and how they used trees to build their homes, just like us!

But the only glimpse that I ever got of the clever critters was their tail splashing the surface of the water before they disappeared below.  They are definitely a mysterious and interesting creature!

In fact, they are one of the only other creatures on this planet that I know of that really change the face of the earth.  By building their dams, they block streams and rivers and make lakes, where some very intricate and important ecosystems occur.

They are a very important animal, indeed!

I beavers!

right on both counts. I suck. I'm sorry I waisted your time. It's one of those things that's on my mind all the time. I'll try and regain control of myself.
