I always appreciate pic dumps in the art threads; seems appropriate.

Nice metal work, the mushrooms and the silverware birds are amazing!
I do some copper electroforming occasionally, but have always wanted to get into forging and/or welding.

"The Melanesian natives were delighted by the airplanes that flew by overhead. But never did these objects come down to them. The White Men, however, succeeded in capturing them, apparently because they possessed, in certain areas on the ground, similar objects that drew in the flying planes. In response to which the natives set about mirroring this strategy by constructing a simulacrum of an airplane out of branches and creepers, marking out a strip of land that they painstakingly illuminated overnight, and then hiding patiently, waiting for the real planes to land on it. Without accusing the anthropoid hunter-gatherers wandering through our current-day urban jungles of primitivism (but then, why not?), one can see a fable on consumer society here. The beneficiary of the miracle of consumption also puts into place an entire array of simulacra-objects, of signs characteristic of happiness, and then waits (despairingly, a moralist would say) for happiness to alight." - Jean Baudrillard, The Consumer Society

Got any pics of your work, I'd love to see them. Electroforming is cool stuff.
I would definitely recommend trying out forging if you ever have the chance. It's really fun; it turns metal into clay and along with welding makes you look at trash and scraps in a whole new way.
Here's some more stuff I've made combining forging with a little welding.
 Towel holder with swiveling tentacles.

Kraken guitar stand for the first guitar I built.

I was on a tentacle kick for a while as you can see and made pans, carabiners, wall hooks, knives, etc. Before that it was hands.
 Cocktail spoon with olive/cherry grabber.

Admirable craftsmanship, for sure! Perhaps this is an artist you'll appreciate?

Those are all awesome, the tentacle towel holder is my favorite probably.
I think I've posted these in this thread awhile back, but here's some electroformed stuff I've done...

Most of what I've done is rings and pendants. The pendants are mostly organic material and/or polymer clay base. The rings are mostly natural stones glued or epoxied on hammered bands(which is almost forging, ha). I haven't made anything in awhile, but sometimes will get into it for a month or two and make a bunch of stuff.

Hummingbird, these are awesome! Kind of reminds me on the time I used to play Diablo2. I wonder what magical powers these give to the one who wears them .

Those look amazing Hummingbird! I love the poppy pod and the cube. Is that a garlic scape in the center?
Well done. I had a friend who was playing around with this a few years back but theirs never came out as crisp or clean as your work. I really want to try this now. Very cool stuff, thank you for sharing. Definitely post more whenever you get back to it!

I donโt know if it qualifies for this thread, but Iโve been getting really into photographing and editing my grows. Now I only grow for aesthetics and never care about potency, hollow stems, etc.
