Im going to have to spend a lot more time going through all these pages some evening, there's so much beautiful content to be seen even after a quick glance. I figured since I was already sharing some poetry tonight, I may as well share some of my other art too.

Whoa, that's awesome. It might be the medium you're using but I like how he seems to have a glow.

One of my main problems is i have no eye for color or shading. I cant even manage to keep strokes looking like they werent doneby a 3rd grader just scrabbling a colored pencil in every direction to fill in a spot lol.
Im trying though. Ive never had the confidence to try any medium other than old printer paper and whatever pencil is laying around.
Here is something i was able to do with the crutch of graph paper. Without the crutch nothing woud have been straight, symetrical, or even by any stretch of the imagination lol. I really like recurring geometry and symetry. I find it fascinating how geometrical shapes can be found at the heart of everything. I think this will be really cool if i dont ruin it when i try to add color

This is what happens when i try to draw a scene created in my mind, or try to draw someth8ng organic.
The one i wanted to try and start a scene lookng down a river with a fallen tree across it, maybe set running through a forrest. I dont think i handled the distance of the rock to the tree to where the river starts becoming farther away very well

This one i was just going for some random spiral type deal to see what it would turn to. I tried to maybe set it in space but my dismal attempt at drawing a distant planet stopped me. I managed to add like a rock ledge with water spilling onto to the spiral and not think it was super terrible. I think i ended the sprial too quickly though. It seems to get real small real fast lmao.

Any criticism is welcomed

cool geometric design
I wouldn't call using graph paper a crutch...more like an aide If a thing helps your process it is not a bad thing. I use a perspective grid on photoshop when drawing architecture, its the end result that matters.
Re organizing the composition on your tree drawing would help. Everything is very much centered and doesnt give the eye much room to wander. The stream could be slightly curved and the rocks put into groups (to create larger shapes with variety) This would be one way to liven up the composition.

looks better man, I like the fisherman...it adds a bit of human interest to the picture.
Made a painting for the story "The boy who drew cats". It's a good story and has a real mystical zen feeling. I took that mystical vibe and based the painting off of that.
the rough colour study

The final, both are acrylic

One question.. what were you thinking, drawing this?

at first I wanted to picture humanity harnessing the energy of the sun lol, but I changed my mind and decided to represent the action of the sun on earth in a surrealistic kind of way. I'm happy because it's a step in the direction I'm aiming..... ( like a study )

A current digital work in progress, 10 points if you know who it is A previous during-trip drawing
-------------------- I live in a place where time doesn't exist, colours taste like fruit and sound drips down the walls. You can hear the light shining down upon you and smell every touch; where magic is reality and reality is merely but a figment of the conscious dream. Wont you come and visit ?
