I was wondering if it is illegal to buy mushroom spores in bc, Canada and then transport them to Washington (state). Would the border security say anything.
Thanks

Spores are legal in both the US and Canada. However, if searched be prepared for questioning.

Even if its not the will screw you. Disassemble your vehicle etc. it is probable cause to suspect other narcotics may be present. dont be a fool.

I've transported from Victoria Island to Port Angeles many times. And a couple of times, I have been questioned which resulted in me missing the ferry. But, nonetheless still was able to transport. Just took me longer than necessary. Stick to the mail...

Ok, so you are definatly not allowed to bring them across
Actually, im not sure about that but if you are not allowed to bring fruit from another state or country, i doubt they would allow mushroom spores.
HOWEVER
Go for it, they cant smell them with dogs and spore prints are easy as hell to hide, just come up with a spot that you can put them and youll get them across easily

Because spores contain no psilocybin or psilocin, they are legal to sell and possess (in all states except California, Georgia, and Idaho). But in most states, it is illegal to cultivate or propogate spores into mycelium since mycelium generally contains both psilocybin and psilocin.
Canada # Both Psilocybin and Psilocin are schedule III in Canada. (Note: Canadian schedules are very different than U.S. schedules). See Psychoactive-Related Laws for Canada
Mushie spores are not illegal because they do not contain Psilocybin they can not be classified as a schedule anything drug..
I would go for it if you do get caught, and that is a big fat if, I'd say you have a pretty good argument.
Or if you prefer to remain anonymous then you can always say the are an edible strain like blue oysters for example.

Georgia and Idaho are Illegal to possess spores. California law is not much different than federal law, They only become Illegal when you grow them. I am expecting my ban any moment but it is the truth. VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

You aren't going to get busted mailing the spores into Idaho. Especially if they aren't labeled as a psychoactive species and are sent in a plain letter that isn't real thick. I doubt the Idaho spore law gets enforced often.
You can also bring them easily, they are easy to hide because they are so flat. They will be looking for something larger than a few spore prints. If you are paranoid, take apart a CD case and put them there. It would be one hell of a customs search to search through all your CD's as that is very time consuming and the amount of drugs that can be hidden there is very small.
