Dunking

I've read all about how dunking is very beneficial if done before the first flush, and I'm planning on doing that for my cakes. I have a question though . . . I am planning on trying 2 casings, one with 1 cake and one with 2 cakes, and I was wondering if anyone thought it would be beneficial/detrimental to dunk the cakes before they go into the casing. I'm thinking it might not be necessary since the casing layer(s) (bottom and top) provide the extra moisture needed, but what do I know, this is my first time. Thanks for any reply.

P.S. -- These are standard PF jars with EQ strain.

Ok . . . yeah this is what I thought (don't dunk), but I just wanted to confirm this, as I am a newbie and I have no experience to rely on. Thanks a lot.

I've often wondered the same thing. I think someone rated me a 4 and no one else has rated me. ?? But hey, I can't complain.

Edit -- I just rated you a 5, but I don't think it changed anything.
