You seem to have missed my point. Abnormality or not the idea that he is somehow better than another is due to one's prejudices and attachments.

What the hell do you people know huh? Get off your high horse and open your mind and maybe you will learn something.
Please don't attack me for giving my two cents, which in this case was to point out that humans are full of prejudice and we are no exception. Also, who are these You People? Are we on teams now?

It seems stupid to expect someone to know something or be able to do something from just sitting meditation on your ass but perhaps there are things going on in his mind you simply cannot imagine?
Back to the question I raised...

Did you take the picture of a banana with a brown sugar solution filled spore syringe sticking out of it with a tourniquet tied around it?

"Everybody needs an acronym."
"How about F.A.B.?"
"What's that mean?
"Fucked at Birth."

You aren't free from prejudice in this area, it seems though yours is more hopeful and less critical than MT's. Unless you have met this little Buddahbuddy you're letting all your attachments to enlightenment, meditation, lotus position (etc.), run those prejudices right into something promising.
Yeah sorry my bad that is a good point you make. but
Quote:
What gives this boy and more promise than anyone else? That he is doing things like that of Buddah? This means nothing without the attached prejudice that these things are right or wholesome or whatever.
I disagree it "means nothing" since hes obviously very determined seeing as he is willing to brave the elements for long periods I would say that qualifies as having more promise then anyone else.

Well it was directed at you and mushroomtrip, I wasn't really sure what you were saying tho. Point taken.

Yeah agreed we shouldn't no point. Can anyone tell me when this guy was last seen anyway?

Braving the elements means things to us due to our attachments and prejudices, it's just how we roll. Someone may brave the elements but morally and ethically be a disgusting person, but I like you find some kind of value or charisma in being able to brave the elements none the less.
When I say it means nothing, imagine you stumbled upon this boy without ever of having heard of Buddah, meditation, enlightenment, any of these eastern philosophies. One who knows and cherishes these things would naturally see someone of great valour or honor or whathaveyou, while someone without those attachments may only see a boy who as been sitting for a very long time. All action has consequence including inaction, and my guess is that much meditation has potential for greatly benefiting the mind, but all that "what if he's the real deal" eastern hype is humans being there usual hopeful selves.
