Pressure cooker query?
    #1225237 - 01/17/03 04:42 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I have a question for anyone who deals with pressure cookers on a regular basis...This one is for you!!! When your cooker is coming down in pressure, after cooking a load of ...whatever,(large or small) Is it lagitament to allow the cooker to reach 1 to 2 pounds of pressure before moving it in front of a filter hood, to unload it??? I am asking to help preserve a lot of sterilized goods, and to prove to a friend that there is no reason to let the pressure drop that far down before placing it in front of a filter of some kind. I COULD BE WRONG, I just want to know for sure from another opinion.!
Thanx,
Sillycybe

As long as there is positive pressure inside the PC nothing is going to creep in.

Right on, Man! Sorry to not specify the type of container I am using. YEs, We are using bags. And normally when the weight/rocker is taken off there is hardly a whisp of air that comes out. We are cooking sround 40 bags per load and thats alot of contamination to put upon yourself just for losing track of a simple five minutes.
