Old Atari/Commodore 64 ROMS
    #12230894 - 03/19/10 12:41 PM (14 years, 12 days ago)

Ive been downloading a lot of old school roms lately and Ive ran into the same problem I always do...

The Atari Roms are called...

Bowling (1)
Bowling (2)
Bowling (32 in 1)
Checkers (1)
Checkers (2)

etc...

the Commodore roms are called...
DABBLE1
DABBLE2
DALAX0
DALAX1

etc...

like wtf

can some one explain this to me. I never played these consoles and so I am unfamiliar with all the games for them.

Are those the right names?

anyone have a better master list I can download somewhere?

I really only want (E) and (U) roms. No need for that jap shit. THANKS!

Is it possible there are different ROMS for lots of different types of emulators?

Also, have you tried loading them?

I've received ROMS from romulation.net that have all sorts of custom mods/graphics/etc.

What's your problem exactly? You have some lists of supposed ROM files. You got the files themselves? Are they in a somewhat realistic file range; i.e. do they look good at first sight? What emulator are you using? Are you running into any problems with that?

The problem is that these file names are wack. I dont want to have to rename them all, and even if I did, it would require me running each game.

Damn. See the problem is they are all like this. Most of the time, the files are all in 1 zip so its impossible to tell before hand.

Plus Im only looking for English games.

Im trying to eliminate all the hard work of renaming and deleting duplicated. I just want a master list.

The trouble is not getting them to run. Its the file names. Its a PITA to choose a game when the file names are as described above...

DABBLE1
DABBLE2
DALAX0
DALAX1

As far as the Atari 2600 roms, I found a list on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Atari_2600_games of all the games and Im just going to bite the bullet and go manually through and delete the duplicates.

Edit: Well Im running into the same problem that I had before. An incomplete rom list. Its a PITA to find complete lists.

post a link to whatever files youre talking about.

its pretty tough trying to understand what youre saying.

i downloaded one or two from here and theyre fine.

http://www.atariage.com/system_items.html?SystemID=2600&ItemTypeID=ROM

post a link and then explain so we know what youre talking about.

Well, I guess it's up to you to build the Great Online Atari & Commodore ROM Lair, wiht full documentation of all the games out there

But yeah, that sucks. Sometimes things just need a bit of work, and I imagine that the c64/Atari game community just isn't too big these days.

My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end.

Are these just for PC?

I'd love to get ALL 772 games in a single file for my Wii.
