You know, and the fact that every instrument
is playing pretty traditional death metal rhythms
and melodies.
Chill out Olympus. 
It's a video of Louis Armstrong with a death metal track over it.
And lyrics have little to do with death metal.
Perhaps there are certain commonly occurring lyrical
themes in certain sub-genres, but that's it.

You're taking a silly joke and trying to discuss it logically, analyzing death metal like its a cluster of cells in a petri dish.
You probably know a lot more technical details about death metal than I do, so I won't even try to discuss it.
It's just a joke.
However, for the record, I don't see why social commentary has to imply rebellion. Besides, they're lyrics, they don't have to be interpreted literally. Maybe Armstrong was being sarcastic when he called the world wonderful.
Also, everyone knows that Louis Armstrong sold his soul to Satan to get famous, so there's the Satanic criterion for you.

I do agree on the social commentary, philosophy. I
would also add: spirituality, the abstract, nature, story-telling,
love, sorrow, life and death.
Pretty much no different than other music, although typically
more observant. Lots of reflecting, questioning etc.
The satan/occult/violence is only a part. And although it still
has a big following, the more realistic, down-to-earth styles
of death metal lyrics (which usually go hand in hand with melodic
death metal) have become incredibly big in the past few years.
Not to say there's anything wrong with some Cannibal Corpse of course!
And for whatever reason, people into the extreme forms of metal are
usually kind, softspoken, animal-loving, peaceful, laid-back people.
I would trust someone with a patched-up leather jacket, Suffocation t-shirt and
tight ripped jeans far before I would ever trust someone with dreads and a Dead shirt.
