Aerogarden growing problems...
    #12196008 - 03/13/10 04:09 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I have an aerogarden deluxe.  Put a seed in each pod... added water and given nutrients.  The two seeds sprouted and hardly grew.

One got a very long stem, to where it touched the bio-dome.  So i took it off and the stem dried up and it died.

the other one has grown about a quarter inch high, and has the first two round leafs and a very small set of the next leafs. Its been about a full week and hit hasn't grown anymore than that.  I noticed it doesn't even have any roots its just a sitting on top of the sponge not even growing anymore.  Just can get this these plants started.. what am i doing wrong?

why are you fertilizing seedlings? i don't like to feed any plant unless it needs it. what are you growing? that also helps out and pics too so we can further diagnose problems.

I'm fertilizing the seedlings because that is what the directions that came with the aerogarden said to do.  The nutrients where for starts seeds and small plants.  I'm growing a cannabis seeds i got in a oz of decent regs.

they don't need any nutrients when they are seedlings. they usually show when they need fertilizer but not so young. thats probably what is stunting their growth. i have a couple plants right now. and havent fertilized them since they sprouted. they are growing great. its bagseed too so i don't expect anything stellar.

You really shouldn't be growing cannabis in an aerogarden in the first place dude... :sorry: to break it to you but the aerogarden is most definitely not suited for growing cannabis.... It is more suited for growing Basil, Oregano, Parsley, etc on your counter-top year round so you always have fresh herbs to use for cooking... What is the max height on that thing anyway? It's only around 12-18 inches or so if I'm not mistaken... Which is no where near enough to grow decent buds, at all...

This is the aerogarden designed for growing tomato plants.  it extends 2.5 ft and has three grow bulbs instead of one.  It should work ive seen and heard many testimonials saying it works.

That's a very poor result, you can get at least 300% more out of those if you give them more space, adult plants would be at least 80 cm high, then you also have to calculate the distance from the lights I'd say 40 cm more; your grow room should be 1,5 meter high minimum, better 2

That movie you linked is worthless IMO

I understand that the aerogarden is not the best set up in the world.  Due to my situation, i have to keep it small and discreet.  Anyway, if i ordered some low rider plants (ones that reach a max height of 1.5-2ft)  that would be suitable for the aerogarden to grow a small personal crop. The video is to show that it can be done anyways.  Do you people got any real advice that can help me yield the most out of what i got?  if you haven't guessed, growing cannabis is a science and I'm fairly new to it.  Thanks

:rofl2: I'm sorry, but did you see the end result on that video? There was probably only about a 1/2 of bud or less in total from all those plants.  Two months is a waaay to long to wait for that little.

You'd think they'd doctor that video a bit and put some huge buds or something to actually make people want to buy it.

OP, sell that fucker on ebay, go to your local hydro shop get a 600watt HPS. and use some coco coir and pearlite(90/10) Some 3-5 gallon buckets(Homo-Depot has cheap buckets but they're orange) and a decent oscillating fan blowing in the room should be more than enough to get a decent small grow.

Something like that would be highly functional and affordable...not to mention you could actually get a few zips of chronic. :bigweed:
