Generally if I get premature mushrooms, I just pick it. I don't know if it actually matters, but I generally like to see several pins pulling through.
Your casings will need a high humidity for formation, but I find if you can keep about 90-95% it's a happy medium for both formation and fruiting. The high humidity is maintained for anywhere from a few days, to a week or more. Once you get fruits going on all your casings, you can always lower the humdity a bit more if you need to.

well vaseline is made of petroleum jelly and too much petroleum based products will cause severe mutations in shrooms. i don't even know if they're safe to eat. :frown:
after pinning humidity needs to be 85-92% for casings.

vaseline is petroleum based right? so I'm guessing you've got rosecombing on your hands. may look cool but imagine having mutagenic substances poured onto your flesh causing your skin to bubble up and inflame. your torturing your babies!! poke poke, no offense meant :smile:
