GLC or myc water
    #12193547 - 03/13/10 12:29 AM (13 years, 11 months ago)

So I have read a lot of post where ppl say that a GLC is not a true LC

because it is more just myc suspended in water. After making my first

GLC i realized that the water had a yellowish tint and tiny pieces of

wbs got taken up in the syringe; this was then injected into a quart jar

filled with sterilized water. I used this to knock up 4 jars 4 days ago

which are all starting to show signs of growth, furthermore the tiny

bits of myc in the GLC have turned into much larger masses. So is a

GLC more like an LC than a lot of ppl give it credit for? Due to the

fact some nutes get taken from the wbs jars.

This is a philosophy question. I am gonna go with no. Once the mycelium is not growing on the grain anymore and begins growing in liquid it becomes a LC. GLC is a title for culture started on grain and the process of separating the culture from the grain, using water, to grow in an LC. Culture began on grain, separated from the grain into liquid, and then begins to grow again. Becomes a LC regardless of if its nutrient source was the grain.
