Plantasia Mystery casing...
    #1213043 - 01/12/03 10:01 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

High all

this is a casing of P.Cubensis, Plantasia Mystery strain.

i have used:

one half-pint jar of colonized rye grains
one half-pint jar of colonized corn flour cake
both crambled to tiny pieces and mixed with the following
pre-made mixture:

50% of dried cow manure
50% of straw pellets
both were pasteurized with the simplest technique ever made lol

when the substrate was fully colonized, i put a layer of coco-coir
on top, patched it only once and then birthed it.

Looks real good

So what's the "simplest technique ever made " to pasturize?

Looking like a nice flush there Mykeon.
Good job.
Always good to see improvements in a grower.
Good to see you got the dung and straw pellets working for you.

Have those grown out? or is that very reasent?

I`ve just been finishing a 3rd flush EQ tub.
Wierdest thing, I was going to throw it out as I never really push a tub past it`s third flush. Walked over, opened the tub and it was covered in pins and 2 fat-mofo pins.
And I looked at it 5 days ago last.
No fanning, misting, nothing.

Speak soon Kykeon.

You`ll learn soon enough SubGenius, there's a point where all mycologists reach where it becomes repetition and efortless to grow cubensis and many of the spoken about mushrooms on this site.
The small little errors fade away and it becomes the easiest thing in the world to produce an awesome flush with minimal effort.
This last EQ tub was left alone and really not given any major attention except for maybe 1 fan a day or 1 every 3 days.
When you work with larger bulk tubs and bulk substrates I find the difficulty level becomes soo low that any errors are merely accredited to stoner mistakes or just plain lasy.
The only contamination I get now is a green casing from the general air, air I take abolutely no cair in filtering.
And this normally only occurs after the 3rd flush.

So in short, persist with your cultivating and you will eventually reach a point where self-sufficiency is not even an option anymore.
It`s fun to cultivate but certainly by no means as difficult as it is made out to be.

Derrayld, that was a fine post.

Indeed, working on your methods eliminates those little errors. and voila, piece by piece the whole puzzle of knowledge combines together and every time you work on them, you get better results.

Indoor Mushroom Cultivation is a personal effort that pays back, for you gain in knowledge and respect of life. No matter how or why you start, there is a chance you will become very attracted to it. Then several species reach your hands by e-friends, and in no time you realise you have your house full of jars and hundreds of printed papers from the net and countless jars and bags of substrates and such...

but most important of all...

you get some lookin-like-dead spores and you help Nature do its miracle of life... then you have a whole living network and when you see it flush like that, with countless pins, then you can say to yourself that this mycelium lives for real and conditions are such that it lives normally -> happily.

Thats why i never threw any myc in the garbage, except if it was contaminated, but instead, i let them free by making simple outdoor beds wherever it can be done. I am spreading the miracle  lol

All of my spent substrates go straight to the compost heap and later get fed to me Ganja plants in it`s new fantastically composted form

How does one aquire the title of mycologist? do you have to actualy have to get a degree in mycology? or is one a mycologist just by the fact that they cultivate and learn about fungus?

That's really encouraging, Derr
Without access to true psychedelics for some time now, I've been hoping to do this so badly (I seriously, sincerely consider psychedelic use part of my spirituality).  This gives me hope~
and it feels great to have a hobby with which I keep researching and experimenting
