Filling out money order

when filling out a money order (western union) it asks for more info in addition to "pay to the order of":
- purchaser's address - purchaser: signer for drawer - payment for/acct #
do you really have to fill all that out? i thought a money order was basically money with the recipient's name on it... is the money order 'less anonymous' if you put your address or signature on it or do money orders not really get recorded/traced anywhere?

Put the recipients name as both payer and payee. It's mostly for proof of payment in the event of a dispute I think. Or you could just give the money to me. I could put it to good use.

Make sure the recipient of your money is secure, responsible, and trustworthy.
After that, I'd definitely not place your credentials on the form. Gotta make sure the recipient knows its from you though.
Maybe you should use a codeword, or a secret number that can identify you with the recipient of your money so they know who to accredit that deposit to.

without thinking i already wrote my address and signature, stupid i know ... but does that matter if they're shipping to my real name and address anyway?
even if the vendor keeps sloppy records, which we'd all hope, does a money order actually get recorded/documented somewhere with all that info on it, like a check does?
just trying to see if that makes a difference, tell me if im getting too paranoid , we all want to avoid big brother

I don't like the word paranoia. Loaded term, really a value judgement. "You're worrying about that more than you should."
Play the chess game, make sure you're several steps ahead and that you CYOA at all times and you'll be fine.
You only run into problems when you become comfortable and then reckless. This rule is true in regards to many things.
Dude - If your vendor gets busted, it is *highly* doubtful that anything is going to happen to you as a result. Chances are he lives in another state, so you're already talking multi-state/jurisdiction cooperation between law enforcement, which is notoriously poor.
If the police ever even "catch" your vendor, what are the chances that you'll still be involved in illegal activities/have a dirty house? How much money do they want to waste on a most likely cultivation/manufacture charge which is going to (likely) net zero dollars for them (few things you can buy off the internet have the profit margin of cocaine or heroin).
And then there's the fact that police almost exclusively work up supply chains and not down. Working down simply means more work for far exponentially fewer results (incarceration time/fines/whatever else they hurt people with).
You're fine.
