 newbie - possible contam?

Hi,
I just found this (great) forum the other day, and have been reading as much as I can while waiting for my grow-kit (king-bong.co.uk) to arrive.
I got it this morning and gave it a look over. The instructions that came with it said that " the mycelium should be white with possibly some blue colouration (this is the psilocybin). Any other colours may indicate the presence of mould or bacteria"
I've been looking at it all night, because it does have some colouration, but I can't make my mind up as to whether it's a contam or not. As hard as I look, I can't say that it's definitely blue or definitely green, there's not enough for me to tell. They are more like very small veins and so far (over 17 hours since received) they don't appear to be growing. They don't have that 'fuzzy' look that I've noticed with green mould and the mycelium doesn't look excessively wet.
My dilemma is, that the tray is sealed with tape, and I can only return it for replacement if it's unopened. I don't know whether to go ahead and give it a go, and risk losing my money, or to send it back, and possibly incur more delivery charges if it was a false alarm.
The mycelium looks fine other than this, and it has colonised the whole substrate as far as I can see. Should it now be able to hold it's own if this is a contam? If it is a contam, what if I try leaving it for another day...should an infection spread very fast?
I will try and post some pics tomorrow when I get some more batteries for my digicam.
Any info in the meantime is much appreciated

judt fon't panic! everything is simpler than you can imagine! the contaminations smell very bad and spread very fast(most of them). i believe that your kit is just fine! if you could post a photo you would help us (and you) a lot

I'd take my chances and open it. If its sterile and sealed, you should have no problem.

I decided to go ahead with it. I tried to take a photo but it doesn't show up at all. I checked it before I finally decided to open it, and there was no further growth at all, I think it's the blue colouring that was mentioned.
I'll try and take pics as I go along so I can make a log, just thought you might want to see my newbie setup
I'm not sure of the cover is tall enough though, I may need to buy a bigger one.

If you ever got a problem with the mushrooms growing too tall just make a hole in the perlite and sunk the pan.

I'm in the UK, I got the propagator from B&Q, a big DIY store over here (link below). They had larger ones, and also some with heaters in the bottom, but I wasn't sure how much heat they were going to put out.

just wanted to add 1 thing. maybe u should take it out of the inner plastic container cause u could get pins on the side and bottom by the looks of things/

Is that the done thing, to take it out of the tray? I've never done this before so I'm not sure, I can't tell if it would all fall apart or whether it's held together quite solidly.
I just got back after a weekend away and not much more has happened, no pins yet. There's a lot of condensation on the inside of the tray, I'm wondering whether that's a good or a bad thing.
Should I move this post, or start another or anything? So far there are no more contam worries.
Oh and the avatar is Lain, from "Serial Experiments Lain", a very cool anime series.

Wrap the casing in tin foil or duct tape, to block the light from hitting the side. If it pins on the side, theres a good chance they'll rot, possibly ruining your whole casing.
