i am not sure if this psot belongs in this forum or the advanced one, but i need to know which species of mushrooms grow best in south eastern michigan.

I got EQ's in my backyard last summer.
Im close to the superior too so its usually pretty cold.
I want to do an Azurescens bed eventually....

well moe, i jsut found out that TLG is sell pann subbs! =). i'm gonna grow them outside, since you li ein the south..i beleive, you probly never cared to know how to cultivate them outside. but do you? i cant find any techs pertaining to it here.

Yeah i dont think you would have any problems (minus slugs)
Just get creative, be the mushroom...
lol
mushrooms do alot better in the cold rather than the heat anyway, not to mention I alwas felt michigan/great lakes region had a special climate for fungi.
after all, up here we get the Humongous Fungus festival, and stamets has shown his face around here...
oooooo and not to mention the morels!!!

yes, isn't one of the world's largest fungi located in the UP? several square miles or so?
have you got any tips for me on what sorts of substrate to use and such? also would it be effect just to spread spores over naturally occuring environments for them? or do i really need to make a bed?
