Dogs that bark at people that wear hats/hoods, trained police dog?

So I went to this guys house that I dont know very well. I wore a hoodie. When I get there, his dog starts barking at me like crazy. He says, "take your hoodie off, she barks at people that wear hats and hoodies".
I made me think I was on camera and they wanted to get a good picture of my face.
Was that normal dog behavior?

Absolutely, especially if the dog wasn't socialized properly by the time they were 12-16 weeks old. Its very common for dogs to also freak out on men with beards if they weren't around any when they were very young.
My advice is to work on not being so paranoid, or to stop hanging out with sketchy people that somewhat justify your paranoia.

Man, dogs freaking out on people who have beards/hats on sounds downright crazy to me. I guess it's possible though.

nah its common. certain dogs don't like certain things. I think having a hood on makes you look big and scarey. or even perhaps the dog was beat by someone who had a hood on once.
all dogs have quirks.
anon #1 youre just being paranoid

true that although it does not have to be a mater of how the dog was treated or the way it was socialized. it could have something to do with some one with no discernible features (because of the hoody, hat, beard) walking into there romping grounds sort of like if you were in your house taking a shit and your parents let them self's in and you come out of the bathroom to them checking for dust on the book self
you just cant help but feel Ornery

Dogs feel more comfortable when they can see your face and eyes. If these are covered up they cant read you and are distrustful of you.
Also you cant hide your emotions and body language from a dog. Chances are you were uneasy and sketchy, so the dog was uneasy and sketchy.
