They just got rid of their light guy a year or so ago and the lights are much different now. check out the lights from red rocks 06-07 if you can find footage. Saxton was the best light guy besides CK5 of Phish and sts9 even got to use phish's light rig one night at red rocks.


Gonna check that out. I didn't get into them until just under a year ago, and this was only my second show seeing them at a little venue, the only way to do it IMO. Seeing music at festies is not all it's cracked up to be unless you're at a fairly small event and the acoustics are okay, which is damn near impossible at most big shows/festies.

Thanks for that info though, I'm pretty new to group psychedelic experiences, and that includes music. I've always tripped with friends, and I also like to trip by myself, but before about 2 years ago I never tripped or rolled with more than 4 other people, then I found out how nice it is to be around that many people in the same mindset as you are, the energy is just amazing. Thanks again though, will check out that show, and CK5 for the lightshow stuff, I have heard that it's not so much of an art anymore, more just a program running. Nothing like how it was 30-40 years ago when it took 5 or 6 people, or more to create an amazing show. Great info, thanks again.

I knew that, it did sound weird the way it was written, but I meant I'll check it out for examples of the light-show itself, not because I'd be setting up a light-show and I'm looking for a program, I just wanted to see some of what he created.

Sound Tribe just announced that they'll be doing 3 shows in Chicago in August! I plan on going to all 3 shows.

The Saturday night show is with Bassnectar, and the Sunday night show is an acoustic show. It should be an epic weekend.

I can't wait!

I just want to add that STS9 is good for any substance or totes sober.

However, nearly every time I've smoked salvia or elf spice I've had STS9 as the background.

One thing is for sure: their flow and sound compliments any type of psychedelic journey.

The last time I saw Sound Tribe I just ate some kratom and drank and it was really nice. Look forward to seeing them again but they'll have to wait because I have some Panic on my radar.

And for that Saturday night show in Chicago. Bassnectar will be opening up for Sound Tribe at the Charter One Pavilion, and then he'll also be playing the after party at the House of Blues.

that should be fun, at least bassnectar is spinning some good shit again. He got really weird there for a sec... he sounds NOTHING like he did in like 06 when i saw him latenight at waka for the first time.
