Hawaiian...what to do different?

Never messed with them before, but now I've got some on the way(I'm already drooling). I just have a few questions as this is the first time I'm expanding my horizons with different strains. All questions apply to PES Hawaiian...
What's the best substrate to use? Any variation from the standard PF Tek? What's the best casing tek?
This will also be my first shot at casing, so if you have a link to any good teks(other than the one in the FAQ) I'd appreciate it.

Thanx for the reassurance, I just wanted to make sure before I start planning this out and buying supplies. I've been wanting to work with Hawaiians since the first time I saw a picture of them fruiting off of a casing. Truly the most beautiful mature fruits I've ever seen.
Sikid, both of those links go to the same page. That looks like an extremely easy tek, but is that the one you thought was good, or better?
Also, I was thinking about varying my substrate away from brf to something that provides more nutrients. What substrates have you had the best results with? I'm just looking for the short answer here, I can research the teks myself, Just point me to something to read up on.

Much better. If I can find the lime and crushed oyster shells(I think I know where to find the latter) that's the one for me. Thanx for the help, 5 shrooms for you!

If you're gonna use that tek, you may want to get some calcium carbonate instead of hydrated lime. You can get it in a garden store. You can find oyster shell in petshops, but feed stores are much better sources, its much cheaper. Good luck.

I've also heard great things about coir, but I haven't used it yet. I know that Roadkill is a huge fan of coir, so if you are interested, PM him.

What's GI, surferdude, and what do you mean by imported?
imported=transported or transplanted . GI meaning U.S. Army personal, and i think you know what a surfer is

So you are saying that the army and surfers transported spores to North America? And are you saying that these spores were used in cultivation or that they made there way into the environment and thats how cubensis grow in the South Eastern US? I'm still confused.

I have 10 jar's incubating, 5 are F+ and 5 are hawaiin's..Now the F+ are pretty much all 65% colonized, while the hawaiin's are about 0-10% colonized, the temp is a constant 84.degrees.....I'm thinking there just slower colonizer's, we'll see it's been about a week..

Gee I didn`t know that hawaii was the boiling pot of all races. Gosh, now I feel clever. And wow all the original mushrooms came from Hawaii, really??? Wow I`m an educated man now.
Sorry, but all those previous posts on the origin of mushrooms and man are crap. Don`t ask me the correct answer but I sure as hell no what was said is crap.
Man originated on the southern tip of Africa. Mushrooms, that`s another story.
