Hatha Yoga is so great, its sooo nice to stretch!
Do you find you stick to a routine of practice, or do you practice new asanas everyday? What are the main asanas you practice? Do you take classes?
I know theres tons of posts about this, but theres always room for more
After trying lots of asanas i find myself doing most asanas revolving around the 5 tibetans, i never really practiced the five tibetans consciously i just practiced loads of yoga poses & my body likes those poses best so naturally gravitates towards them. I feel they stretch possibly every muscle in the body if done right.
I def wanna start going to some classes to learn more but they're hard to find in this area, mostly just crappy mislead classes in the backroom of gyms, not many real 'yoga centres'

The first is like twirling dervish, but i usually keep my feet rooted & just spin side to side twisting my spine, i love it, the second is double leg raises, the third is similar to the camel asana, the forth is basically staff pose flicking up into east stretch, and then five is going from cobra (without your hips touching the floor) and swinging up into downward facing dog, i usually incorporate a four limbed staff/low plank pose before the cobra....
I do some other poses like triangle, gate, and warrior 1/2/3 in a vinyasa flow, my whole exericise routine is done vinyasa really, from bike riding to swiss ball to weights to yoga, it all one movement in no particular order
I still wanna go to some good classes though

it's so interesting that there are so many different names for these poses, i think i more or less get the idea, though i don't know what east stretch is.

hmm this thread reminds me of a book i read called 'tibetan power yoga' - which describes a very basic but powerful prostration practice which is very common in tibet (i forgot i read it until now)
i think i'll get into it, though i'll need a non-carpeted floor sigh

I basically stick to a routine practice. I foudn free hatha yoga lessons from real-yoga.com, and found them to be satisfactory.
I prefer to be alone when doing yoga.

i was doing ashtanga vinyasa for a couple months
it was quite physically exhausting (which made it more difficult to stay meditative)
i think i'll look for a more asana-holding? style of hatha yoga (ashtanga vinyasa was like 90 minutes of constant flow movements)

ashtanga is way way too much for me.
i recommend iyengar or anusara for holding postures longer.
