say hypothetically there was a gigantic san pedro growing in someones yard, hundreds of feet total, and the owners had no idea it was special in any way

would it be a dick move to chop off like 2 feet from a part nobody can see for me to plant myself?

:2cents:

It's nature- my view is that it's the gaia's fruit and it shouldn't be too big of a deal and if the owner isn't too obsessed it or a maniac he probably won't care....

BUT!

I think it would all go much smoother and be much less controversial, less law breaking, less based on opinion, and a lot friendly and a better chance for a great outcome if you asked him.

Just go up, be friendly, and explain to him how cacti re roots and how you were wondering if you can take a couple feet, the outcome will either be:
Yes take a foot or three
HELL, Take the WHOLE thing! :aweoverdose: Just leave a bit so it will grow more! :awedance: Then you ship half to me! :awesomenod:
OR... He'll say no
OH WELL! No harm no fouL!

Well you obviously didn't ask for advice as you took quite a bit...

I side with everyone else on this. If you would have taken mine I would have had a hatchet with your dick's name on it.

asked politely if I could prune it and use the leftovers for my own garden. didn't even take 1/4 of the plant really.

they just kind of looked at me like they never even realize they had a cactus in the first place and said yeah go for it

Are you absolutely positive that its san pedro or a active cactus.

Thats one big motherfuckin cactus i highly doubt they would notice a foot missing or even a whole arm.

Chop away.

And for the people who said they would shot someone for tresspassing  that makes you worse of then the theif like really ending someones life cause the set foot on a little plot of dirt that your being all terratorial about is asinine and you think of your self as doing good or only carrying out your god given rights. please . I have no idea how i would live with myself if i shot someone cause they tresspassed. its not like they were raping your first born and making you watch jesus the logic of some people.

tbh no I am not 100% sure it is active... I would say at this point about 90% sure. I had another more experienced shroomerite help me ID it, he says he is almost positive its SP

Looks like a san pedro to me. I am not good on accurately iding cacti, but I have one in my back yard that is slightly thinner.

I was given about a 3 foot cutting. I might take a piece of it this summer, I might not.

What I do know is that by next spring I will probably chop it into 3 more cuttings and re-pot. Every year after that I can look forward to taking it as I please.

I am not sure that is San Pedro.

The pic isn't really good enough to be sure, but it looks a little bit more like Cereus peruvianus to me.

as I've stated, a man knocked on my door once to inquire about an old

truck looked like shit but ran pretty good, he was in need of something
he could find work in and had full intention of buying it

His picture was posted at 3am...

His last before that was 7pm, do we really believe, he went up to someones house in the evening to ask about cutting 25 pieces of cactus?

On that note, those dark pictures make it hard to ID.

Looks a bit like a Cereus
