Walmarts Mycology Department
    #1212335 - 01/12/03 03:28 PM (21 years, 2 months ago)

I just got back from walmart and they must think its mushroom season or something cause they just got done stocking the garden center. it was like a dream world lol. rubbermaid tubs all shapes and sizes all the way to the ceiling lining the walls. They had perlite, verm, racks, mini green houses, frigging everything. Leads me to my question
they have a brand new all organic potting soil added nutrients form stuff. It also has plant food. i know i know all about plant food is bad. but this plant say its all natural, for any kind of plants and micro-organisms. wouldnt this be "the good stuff"?

i know. i just thoght id research it also since i have nuthing better to do and found that fungi is considered a microbe, go figure. big old visible mushrooms classified as single celled organisms.
Visible fungi such as mushrooms are multicellular entities, but their cells are closely connected in a way unlike that of other multicellular organisms.
Plant and animal cells are entirely separated from one another by cell walls (in plants) and cell membranes (in animals). The dividers between fungal cells, however, often have openings that allow proteins, fluids and even nuclei to flow from one cell to another.
pretty cool huh.
