Sorry guys, I've been SUPER busy.
I've got finals and moving to do soon, so I'll be a bit quieter until early June.
I do have pictures however:
Frailea mammifera

Thanks all!
It took quite a beating when it was shipped and I was worried it had frozen, but it seems to be recovering very well and looking beautiful as ever.
Just another testament to the vigor of the Cactaceae!

Those are lovely!
My cousin was on her honeymoon on your island and she had some pictures with the red Delonix regia.
Absolutely beautiful.

Couple of flowers from the garden.
This one I thought was patchouli but now I'm not so sure. The leaves and flowers are covered in some sort of trichomes and it smells a lot like skunk #1. People always ask me if you can smoke it because it smells so much the same.
And a Schlumbergera....

Nah haven't tried smoking it. It's a ground cover sort of plant and goes well in places where it will be brushed against or kicked like on the side of a path, I find this is a good way to get the smell happening. If it ever bares seed you will be the first to know!

Just cut and stick in the dirt is all I do with them.

Some info I found interesting:
Quote:
The absolute true Christmas cactus that Grandma grew is Schlumbergera x buckleyi. It has rounded leaf segments and tends to bloom in December. The cacti you see offered in the Big Box Stores around this time of year are sold as Christmas cactus but they are actually Schlumbergera x truncata, commonly called Thanksgiving cactus. It has "crab claw" type stem segments and tends to bloom about a month before buckleyi. Its all a marketing thing to sell only truncatas as Christmas cactus when the true Christmas cactus is never offered anymore. People don't want to wait until Christmas to buy, and the name Christmas cactus sells better than Thanksgiving cactus.
This is interesting, I remember reading this somewhere as well.

Different Echeveria.

Honesty (Lunaria annua),

Bergenia cordifolia,
