to win the competition, having a nude gf standing next to a plant is an easy way to win.
-------------------- Vegetation has crawled for miles towards the cities. It is waiting. Once the city is dead, the vegetation will cover it, will climb over the stones, grip them, search them, make them burst with its long black pincers; it will blind the holes and let its green paws hang over everything. —Jean-Paul Sartre, Nausea

Nude girlfriend - should probably ask her first I guess. Oh wait you can't have nudity?
Does anyone grow California poppies over there (eschscholzia californica)? I've planted some seeds but they seem to be taking a long time to germinate, nearly 3 weeks now. maybe they take longer?

No problem man,and yeah dude, how cool would a field of them be! Really, all poppies like poor soil, and thrive in it I have also found that they like a lot of sand in their mix as well.

Nice, these are the first poppies I've ever grown. I planted them in where my veggies and herbs are , I've got more seeds and a nice sandy shitty patch at the back I will plat some more. It's going to be hard not to want to just plant them everywhere . . Maybe I could replace my lawns with fields of poppies, that would look cool but i wouldn't want to mow it.

Now that is the kind of soil I am aiming for. How long from there until you see the first flower?

Those are Somniferum, which I don't grow. That is a pic I got off the net, because I assume that is what spaceman is talking about This being said,I haven't started any of my seeds yet,but I will most likely tomorrow

I did see a few like that but not as many as I would need for some good Laudinum I may be wrong because I guess a lot of mine may be on their third set of leaves where they get frilly but I still think they're just weeds

That pic was mid april. They were in full bloom by the solstice, starting a couple of weeks before perhaps, and some run on late. When started sooner, they could be up to a foot wide by april here, giving much larger plants overall before it is time to flower. Some big ones have a good headstart this year as it was such a mild winter.
