The Importance of a Positive Attitude
    #1211255 - 01/12/03 07:59 AM (14 years, 7 months ago)

As many of you know, I have found that I really don't like weed. I found myself just stoned and out of it when smoking, and have often wondered why it isn't as fun as it was when I started.

So yesterday, I went with some friends over to another friends house, only to be introduced to the most kick ass bubbler I've ever seen... $400 hand blown. So I figure, why not try it. Only this time, I didn't look at getting stoned as a bad thing, in fact I was kind of looking foreward to it. Things were looking OK until I began to notice the effects of the weed on my body, and realized it gave me a light-weight lead type feeling, similar to shrooms. At this point, I had a complete change of mind, and realized that pot isn't bad at all, in fact it's fun, but you have to go at it with the right mindset. The best part is, although I had fun, I don't have any desire to smoke again today, or at all until next weekend.

The moral of the story: a positive attitude is necessary when using psychoactives. It makes the ride more fun and it naturally lowers the chances of addiction.

A possitive attitude is important for everything in life, but psychoactives amplify things, so it causes you to be more aware of it.

Why, did you score some weed?

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

A possitive attitude is important for everything in life

Why?

On 115th floor of the WTC on 9/11/2001 after plane hit and flames are coming up the stair well:

Secretary: "Arrggghhhhh! We are going to die." (negative or realistic attitude)

Manager: "Don't worry, the authorities will find some way to get us out of this." (positive or unrealistic attitude).

Both fry and there is NO difference.

The proof is in the pudding.

"Positive" does not necessarily = "unrealistic"

You forgot to include the attitude of someone in a higher state of consciousness... He wouldn't be afraid, he would recognize what is happening and accept it without fear, making the 'transition' of death go as smoothly as possible.

I would call that a positive attitude. How is that unrealistic?
