Un-colonized cake with cap on top?

Does anyone think it would be possible to put a mature cap on top of a cake in the terrarium, so that the cap would drop spores directly onto the uncolonized cake, and sucessfully colonize the cake and grow a crop of mushrooms?

Yes I agree with Roadkill. Even if you did perform the operation in completely sterile conditions the cap will have some foreign spores on it and you will bring them to the substrate. Just forget about it.
