hardly. they want nukes to get the 'respect' a country with nukes gets. they will use it to leverage their world position but thats bout it. who are they gonna attack? south korea? do they even have icbm capability? or are they gonna supposively 'support terrorists' with their nukes?

Actually, they don't have ICBM technology as far as we know, and I do believe they realize the possible effects of a nuclear war (they only have 2 nukes right now), which is a good thing. That's why I'm not too worried, I think this will just end up being another Cold War.
But to say that just because you personally don't have anything against N. Korea (and are therefore not affected) or that you won't be affected by a nuclear war because you don't live within our borders is downright ignorant. That is far different from the solely optimistic view you hold.

Well you see, the leader of N Korea is a nut case. The guy has no reasoning whatsoever. We might not have a million man army like they do but if you're in N Korea and you want to be fed then you might as well join the military.
The way I see it, N Korea is China's little puppet. N Korea's recieved a lot of help from China to production of the nuke. N Korea's scientists in the production are Chinese. Taiwan might be in for some shit.

A) It's not a 'holy war', North Korea is not a religious state.
B) Just because we're capitalists are they're communists does not make us natural born enemies. They said that Bush's referring to them as part of the "axis of evil" was akin to a declaration of war. This certainly doesn't make it Bush's fault, but it was obviously a stupid thing to say. Not the words of someone who wants to deal with things diplomatically.

This whole North Korea thing seems to have come out of left field recently. One minute, the U.S. is invading Afghanistan, then it is preparing to invade Iraq...and now North Korea starts going mental. I'm not sure what to think about this new development...

They've fired a missle over Japan in the past during a test! And have been working on one that could reach the USA, I would'nt be so sure that they don't have ICBMs!

It is hard for me not to see this as collusion. I think the best course of action would be to send a bunch of American planes over there to do a fly-by and drop a bunch of flowers to indicate we love them and want world peace.
Every time a nation or a group of people attack America I immediately think to myself, "What have we done wrong?" It is clear that we have hurt their feelings somehow and must make it all better. Probably the wisest course of action regarding the present state of the world is for America to destroy all its weapons and surrender to Communist China in the hopes that they'll have mercy on us. If we do that many the Communist Chinese would take over the restaurants and I could get a decent Chinese meal (I love Chinese food).
Peace at any price, that's what I always say.

I can be pretty stubborn, Democratics are like that, you know?
I needed a REAL fix to see what certain ideologies are all about. I still vote on both sides of the fence though. Maybe I need more convicing?

No. Anyone who blindly votes by party is not as wise as he should be.
You seem to be doing just fine as a thinker.
That doesn't mean someone who never votes for a member of another party is wrong as long as he does so because he believes that politician is the better of the choices.

Believe it or not, I have even voted for some "non-righties" in my time. They were clearly the better of the choices. Doesn't happen often, but happen it does.
And yes..... Zel is a good guy from what I read.

I don't know that he's such a nut. I'm trying to think of what I'd do. (Well, that doesn't really work cause I am a nut...) Anyway, consider that the president of the world's most powerful nation named his country as one of the axis of evil, then went after another of the axis of evil and has basically taken it upon himself, despite opposition from everywhere, to take that government out through war. If you were Kimyang II or however he spells it, what would you be thinking? Where is it all heading? If he thinks Bush, Cheney, and the rest are acting a little crazy, well, I tend to agree.
So how you guys all doing anyway.
