Jar Success Rates

I was just curious, over the last couple of months, ive gotten back into this hobby again. the thing ive noticed that ive had a problem with is the last 24 jars ive done, ive lost 8. thats roughly 1/3 of wasted time and energy. none of these have been lost to mean green. none of these jars ever started growing, they just sat there and continue to do so, stalled out. the only thing i can imagine is that they did not get enough solution. ive made my own syringes, but never to the point where the syringe is purple with spores. could it be that im running out of spores towards the end on innoculation? i do shake the syringe in between knock ups, and i have not had this problem when i first started this hobby. why now?

Lol Roadkill I bet you have hundreds of incubators. I was asking micky. Incubators really decrease full colonization time.

I am saying how without an incubator you have to wait a lot longer to see signs of growth as compared to with a incubator. And I said it decreases the time from innoc. to full colonization.

Ok I wont use the word decrease anymore its kind of saying not not which means the opposite of not.... This happened to me once and many others. Usually you just throw it out and try again. You might have a contam in there, I did once and it didnt smell at all until I tried to case the 'stalled' jar...

Mickey,
I was thinking...maybe you got a bacterial contam in those jars. Maybe crack one open and see if you have a nasty sour smell.

What does your substrate look like? Nothing growing at all and no visible contamination might mean your mix is all wrong.

i also have 2 jars out of ten that are doing nothing, the rest are about ready to go. ( yes i will let them sit for a while longer ) but i was wondering if when i got to the bottom of the syringe if my solution wasnt as strong ? i know it only takes 1 spore but it seems strange that 2 jars are doing nothing when all were done the exact same way at the same time. actually im happy that the other 8 are doing so well (10 days )

Hey did u mix all the stuff in one big bowl, I did that one time and all the flour kind of goes to the bottom. its usually bad cause u get the wrong amounts in each jar and sometimes they dont grow.

Sub actually i mixed them 2 jars at a time, obviously my recipe was a little off on one of the mixes, but i was carefull to try and keep each mix the same. im hoping that they are just late bloomers !

now there's an interesting explanation. i do deviate from the recommended formula. i usually use 1/2 cup verm, 1 cup of brf 1/2 cup water. but there is a possibility that my formula did not mix correctly, but i am kinda leaning towards not enough spore solution.
