Do i really have to repost the stats that state that more money does not equal better education and grades? It seems like the anti-education crowd refuses to believe this no matter how much proof they are presented with.
It's funny how the left works...

Throwing money at it doesn't help things, but if you do it intelligently it does. Taking money away certainly isn't helping.
The countries with the best education, Japan for instance, have public education, and it's extremely well organized, and well designed. You just need to know how to do these things properly.
"anti-education crowd"
Good grief.

****Japan for instance, have public education, and it's extremely well organized, and well designed.****
that's the difference. Our schools are not organized at all (see Detroit Public Schools for an example).
The school is designed around the premise of passing kids with high self-esteems and not making sure that they are actually being taught something. My family consists of a lot of public school teachers and they told me that they can get in trouble if they fail too many kids. Even when someone deserves to be failed they still pass them.
****You just need to know how to do these things properly.****
Eliminate the teachers union and 1/2 the problems would be solved
Redo the NEA and the other half is complete.
****"anti-education crowd" Good grief. ****
just a little tongue-n-cheek.....

Are these kids taking exams? So you're saying they mark wrong answers as right?
I find that a little hard to believe. Any independent tester has a look through those exam papers and the teacher would lose his job in a heartbeat.

It's called "Outcome Based Education." They pass people who are functionally illiterate so as to avoid creating any statistics that could be interpreted as racist. This is how bureaucracy works.

Here you go Al. Type in "social promotion" using google and see what comes up. Here's a snippet...... Research indicates, and common sense confirms, that passing students on to the next grade when they are unprepared neither increases student achievement nor properly prepares students for college and future employment.(1) At the same time, research also shows that holding students back to repeat a grade (retention) without changing instructional strategies is ineffective. Much evidence suggests that the achievement of retained students still lags behind that of their peers after repeating a grade, making it an ineffective strategy for enabling students to catch up.(2) Retention in grade also greatly increases the likelihood that a student will drop out of school--and being held back twice makes dropping out a virtual certainty. Students who are promoted without regard to their achievement or are retained often fall even further behind their classmates, and those who do not drop out usually finish school without the knowledge and skills expected of a high school graduate. Both being promoted without regard to effort or achievement or retained without extra assistance sends a message to students that little is expected from them, that they have little worth, and that they do not warrant the time and effort it would take to help them be successful in school -------------------------------- They don't have to mark incorrect answers as correct, they just pass the student on to the next grade. At least then it's not that teachers problem any more and the student doesn't get his poor feelings hurt.

the sad thing is that they do the same things in college. We had a women in one of my classes in college who couldn't grasp anything to do with the Business world. Her presentations sucked, her papers looked like they were written by nugsarenice (voodoo doll) and barely came to class. Now some might say that this is common in undergraduate study but the sad thing is that she was in an MBA course.

What a surprise to see you write that.
And there are plenty of stupid white kids getting passed so racism doesn't really factor into it.
