fact or fiction?

im only asking because i don't know...seems like some people get upset when you ask a question that the majority knows the answer to. anyhow
i have heard that if you trip on acid a certain number of times. ive heard 3, 5, and 7 times that you are legally insane.
the question is, is this true, if so...does it only pertain to acid, does it apply to mushroom trips...and what is the number of times..if at all
thanks much

Those people are fucking stupid. It says on the anti-drug that the greatest physical health risk is eating the wrong kind of mushroom and having your liver fill up with fluid, and die a slow very very painful death. That's why you grow your own. I read somewhere else(mightve been on these forums) that scientists injected psilocybin extractd from 30g of dried mushrooms into a mouse and it didn't die. For an overdose to occur, the drug has to be physically dangerous and degrading. You read on these forums of people who have been shrooming for years and years, and all of their organs are still functioning properly. A lot of those anti drug web sites are incredibly fucking bias. Cross refrence everything you read before accepting it as fact.
And to the original poster. I heard the samething, that if you trip on acid 10 times you are legally insane. I just heard it from a stoner i know though, not any reliable source.

I'm guessing you are joking about believing that shit. Rule #1 check to see who is sponsoring the research or information being posted.... in this case Big Brother... (science isn't objective most of the time) Mushroom ODs are essentially not possible unless you are allergic or extremely sensitive (in which case it doesn't classify as an OD) For a normal human (extrapolating from data on rats and mice) who weighs 170 lbs (77.27Kg) it would take around 22 grams of psilocybin(e) to OD... that is assuming that data can be accurately transposed to human subjects... 22 GRAMS of psilocybin(e) would be the amount found in around 2200 Grams (2.2 Kg or 4.84lbs) of DRIED Ps. cubensis (at a 1% alkaloid content of dry mass). Or to put it in street terms.. 628 8ths.. So let's not perpetuate some myths put out by ignorant and malicious people This has been a public service announcement.

Thank you Alkaloid for further swaying the public's view away from propaganda, and setting their gaze towards the setting sun of truth.

The overdoses that they refer to are children under the ages of 6 years old. refrence included.... In 1998 in the United States, 9,839 cases of mushroom poisoning were reported by poison centers. Approximately 69% of these cases (6,796 cases) were children under the age of 6 years. (Statistic from Litovitz et al., Amer. J. Emerg. Medicine, 17:435-487, 1999.) err 69%
