Birthing two different strains in the same terrarium...

Hello everyone. I wanted to know if it would be a problem to birth two different strains(alllen and creeper)in the same terrarium. I'm having trouble making them pin and was wondering if this may be the problem?

I wouldn't think so - the optimum fruiting temps are the same. they may do their stuff at different times, but that'll be fun. they're not in the same cake or casing, are they? please say no.

I have Eq's, Allens, and Acadian Coast all in the same fruiting chamber. It's no problem. Have fun!

They're in different cakes. Thanks for setting my mind at ease guys. I think I may have another question though. I dunked my cakes after birthing and they have some very fuzzy myc growing on them now. After reading the FAQ's it said that the cause could be too high of a temp. But the temperature in my terrarium isn't above 75 degrees(which is what I thought is the optimal temps for these strains). Should I lower the temp to around 70?

You may have the humidity too high, but white fluff is pretty normal on cakes I think. I only fruited cakes once, so I don't really know for sure. Do you have a guage for your temp/humidity?

Your temperature is fine, fuzzy growth is sometimes attributed to a lot of humidity, but I think it's a sign of healthy mycelium. Good luck with the rest of your grow

yes, it's normal. some people refer to this as the cakes 'breathing' but it does look a little freaky.

Ok. I'm just trying to figure out why my cakes are taking so long to pin. I birthed about 4 cakes two weeks ago yesterday and haven't had any luck so far but a single mushroom growing out of one cake. I added 5 more cakes to the terrarium about a week ago so I'm not really worried about them yet.
After hearing how fast the creepers and allen strain are supposed to grow I'm a little concerned...
