Pf tek a success. Need the input of a cultivator.
    #12059405 - 02/19/10 10:49 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Since I don't have pics, I'm going to be as descriptive as possible.

Using the PF tek (for the most part), I inoculated 10 jars with PESA.
(Try not to be too harsh on me for this next part)...
I boiled the jars in a large pot, with the water about an inch up the sides of the jars,  even after reading not to let the water
touch the sides of the jar. Guess what happened. The bottoms didn't colonize.

I decided to be really adventurous and go ahead and birth, dunk, roll, and fruit the unfinished cakes. I got very fortunate and none of the half-assed cakes contaminated. They are pinning very strangely. I found pins on one of the cakes every day, for 10 days. So every cake knotted, pinned and is fruiting almost one at a time.

Here's my question. One of them has 3 pretty chunky pins that have stayed pins, they were the first to show and they have seemingly been around the same size for about 3 days. There are now other pins popping up all over... Should I pick these premature fatties?

Apologies for the lengthy post about a silly ol' pf grow, and for no pics. And for being lazy about shit.

No I wouldn't pick them. Sometimes pins take a few days before they really take off. If they aren't mature in another 3 days they probably aren't gonna grow though.

Thanks, info appreciated. I know they aren't aborts. I'm assuming if they don't start to grow they WILL however abort. Even so, I'm assuming that the energy and moisture will be diverted into other fruits. correct?

I dunno about all that, but I often have aborts and let them be and the others will frequently grow big, even some giants.

Why would anyone want Mac or Windows?  Windows never quits shoving updates down your throat and Mac is just so expensive for the same exact hardware that's in a PC.

Go Linux.
