Printing Caps and Drying Mushrooms
    #1205733 - 01/10/03 12:28 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I had an idea of cutting off the caps of most of my large mushrooms and printing it, then drying the stem followed by the cap when its done printing. But I always end up with very dark caps after I dry the ones that printed, and the stems turn all weird and blue/black. Is it possible, or even a smart idea to print the caps then dry them?

My stems always turn blue/black though starting from where the cap was cut off. I believe all the chemicals are oxidizing that are in the stem, aren't they?

well. thats really the only way you can make a print is 'printing before you dry'

and when making a print, you don't have to wait for the print to be done to start drying, in fact, it seems that the stem takes just a bit longer to be cracker dry anywhay, so you might as well start the process.... besides. whats the worst that could happen, your stem is super duper dry...
