SO I mix my medium with water, jar it, put tin foil with a drop of silicone on the top, and screw on a metal ring and pc for 15 mins. Then inoculate and incubate?

You should better make a "regular" lid, with a injection port and a filter to allow gaz exchange but for the rest you are correct.
Good luck with your LC

I think you're confused about what to do with the lids. The silicone goes in a hole in the lid as a self-healing injection port for inoculating, the tinfoil goes on when you're pc'ing to keep water out of the jar. Also, I believe you need to wait for the silicone to set before you PC, or else you may end up with a glob of material in your LC and an open hole.
I've used this method with success: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10628004/page/1/fpart/1

As long as the silicone can take high temps, then it wont matter what kind you get.

The only reason I use tin foil on LC lids is to keep contams from landing on the lids before I inoculate it. Tin foil is used on grain/pf jars to keep excess moisture out.

It could be a weak concentration...
do you think you were a little bit stingy with the syrup? if not, is there a lot of sediment in the jar?

I would try it, if nothing is growing then maybe you should try to add a bit more syrup.
I used natural honey... about a tablespoon per 250 ml of water.

Use the biggest, fattest needle you have; 18ga or bigger. If thick LC is a problem, consider using widebore withdrawal ports.

I've found 16g to be about right. Big enough to get chunky lc and small enough not to rip apart my ports.
