First off i thank renfox for posting a picture that looks just like what my cakes look like and was worried of what it is, my camera is not that great and cannot zoom well, i hope its okay to post your pic thank you renfox,

They look like tiny white spikes with no brown tips, what could this be anybody else get this, is it normal thanks all

The picture is WAY too small, so it can't be seen.

"Spikes" are just rhizomorphic mycelium. A good thing.

that picture is tiny. and it doesn't get any bigger. so its impossible to tell

Yeah sorry just noticed that now, so the tiny spikes are just rhizomorphic mycelium, they are protruding from the cake it just looks odd

makes sense, also my cakes have been in my shotgun fc for a week now, does this have anything to do with when it will start pinning

Good, than it's just another matter of time. They fruits whenever they want to. The only thing you can do about it is to provide proper conditions. And I think you do that. So just be patient:thumbup:
