Sclerotia Fusing.

This is a Mex A pure culture on RGS and weak coffee, inoculated 13th Nov.
Has anyone witnessed this happening with any sclerotia forming species, MS or isolate?

I wish my stones were as big as those badman. very impressive the stones that fused for me were less than an inch b4 they fused. I should have let them grow but I was hungry for some stones so i cracked the jars and munched down. I dont eat cubes anymore and wanted to trip. I opened the jar and got under 10g wet after like two months. yield for stones is so unpredictable ive gotten 70g+ after two months

Fact is, if you successfully spawn cubes to bulk, they will yield more per jar than a stone producer.
But, stones don't need to be spawned to produce bulk. They are easier and cheaper to grow successfully and they are easier to keep fresh and hidden.
Jar for jar, I think stones are the best.

fuck yeah thats why i payed an arm and a leg for a print of alt #7 from sporeworks. I have my lc looks like a snow globe and i am worried that all these substrains are going to produce less stones then lc with more unified mycelium strands. I hope that made sense

For this isolate the work out the yield I find the dry weight of RGS and multiply by 0.65 to get a ball park figure. This jar Exactly 108.0 g and will yield 70g minimum (Im positive), the other two jars both 108.0 g yeilded 76.4 and 75.5 g. This works all the time for this culture but only holds true when jars are older that 3 months.

I just wanted to say thank you all for answering my questions. It is a debt I only wish I could repay . I am alil nervous about doing an isolate. this shit just keeps adding up, i have to buy a pressure cooker now and a shitton of jars. would you say the yield of an isolate is about 30% more then multi culture on average?

They MIGHT, but I am very pleased with MS stone production. I think you will be too.
Isolates take time... best to start a grow WHILE you isolate.
Sounds like you are doing a good job newb.

30% is nearing the higher end of the spectrum from reading old threads. You could get a shit isolate. I dunno bout galindoi but its in the pipe line, which is clogged up with sick.

Heres another interesting pic.

In vitro shrooms they are attached to the stone if you cant make it out. It also seems the shrooms, which have aborted, are being turned in to sclerotic mycelium.
This jar (216 g of RGS and 400 g weak coffee) was inoculated earlier, same iso, but with a more expanded culture. The stone which is sprouting shrooms is a super stone about 6-8 inches long restuling from fusion, I cant picture it due the the curvature of the jar
Im very tempted to try and grow a stone as big as my fist or maybe a small breast.

I mentioned it before but for those of you who dont know, its a commercial isolate off the streets of Dam (magictruffles.com). Watch me rinse their galindoi and other species.
