I've had a pretty bad mold infestation in the past.
    #12045665 - 02/17/10 09:36 AM (14 years, 10 months ago)

What precautions should I take to make sure everything is clean? Carpet clean? invest in an air purifier? spray the hell out of the room with lysol? How long do these nasty mold spore hang around for?

for what its worth its been about 6 months since my last grow.

There's always mold spores in the air. There's nothing you can do about it. Instead of wasting my money and time on spraying everything, I'd simply use a still air box for any procedures that require a high grade of sterility. Knocking up jars shouldn't be the problem without it, though.

Mold infestations are expensive to clean up. You'll need an ozone generator. You can get a good one for $200 dollars. It will kill anything alive in each room you run it in, including mold spores. You could lysol and bleach bomb a whole room and not come close to getting it as clean as an ozone generator.  Your second option is to clean and run a flowhood in your house.

Ozone cleaners work by injecting ozone into the air, which supposedly works by destroying bacterica, mold etcetera. Least I think. Although I've read somewhere that ozone can cause breathing problems, but again I may be wrong.

You can always spray the air with Lysol disinfectant and try to cleanse the room that way, You can always get an Air purifier or something along those lines.

I must say though a still air box to knock your jars up is the best idea in my opinion, instead of trying to keep the air sterile you just have to keep the inside of the box sterile making things sooo much easier.

http://www.hydroponics-grow-light.com/ODORCONTROL/OzoneGenerator_UvonairOzoneGenerator_AirTigerOzoneGenerator_SilverBulletOzoneGenerator_Ozn-1OzoneGenerator_OzoneGenerators.html

Here's one for $179.

He was asking how to clean up when you have high mold buildup. Yes, there's always gonna be mold spores in the air but use an ozone generator to clean up the builtup spores. I been through it before and manually cleaning is hard work and a waste of time.

Ozone is O3 and it oxidizes anything alive. You run the ozone generator on a timer while you leave. You do that in each room. The air is safe after thirty minutes of it being off. It converts back to O2 after thirty minutes.

Thank-you good sir:thumbup:

When you have a bad outbreak, Lysol and an air purifier doesnt work. I had a bad outbreak last year, so trust me Ive tried it all.
