im lost. i have 100% colonized organic rye berries ready to go also will it go bad and when how long do i have? i had a plan of a way of making my trays out, but now someone says im doing it wrong. i need a helping directions. I have the rr videos but i dont really understand them to much with the manure substrate making. take the hpoo and mix with verm and calcium carbonate and gypsom and something else thats the last thing confusing me because someone says dont use the calcium and just mix the manure with 10%by volume gypsom which i took a piece of sheet rock and crushed it up and mixed then pasturize it then mix that with my spawn. the casing layer i understand. and that comes later. when do i open my substrate tray to peek and see if its colonized. also if my hpoo is not fully dry does that make a diff? i would think not because ur gonna bring it to field capacity n e ways right so it should make a diff right?
please help im lost and wanting to make this im just nervous and dont want to mess it up.. this is my third attempt at making this i can do brf cakes fine. so im steppin it up. but im a skurdy birdy... thanks.

the rye berries will last a while, but from what i read use withing 20 days of colonization for more nutrients. i have some rugusso spawn that has been sitting in a jar for nearly a year. it looks rough and has shrunk alot, but it still looks alive. (i won't use this it was just left over). the manure can be wet but ya don't want it wet and smell like ammonia. the spawning to poo is a little tricker than brf. if ya have more than one jar u might experiment before u throw all ur eggs in one basket.. good luck

i colonized brf cakes and wbs and organic rye berries. i just dont know how to start so many options and everything in my bean is a little confused on how to start or even begin to learn.
so im gonna start here. im gonna take my hpoo and mix it with a cup of verm and a 1/4th cup of gypsom the drywal that i ground up and mix it up and bring it to field capacity.
then im gonna take my organic rye berries 100% colonized and my pasterized hpoo and mix in a lasagna tin tray (the tray was cleaned with alcho 70% 15 mins ago).
cover w tin foil and poke four little holes in it and throw it in the closet. does that sound like im doing it right now? any help or info much appreciated im sorry for private messaging people and asking questions. and ive been diging in forums for 1 month and three weeks and my question are still iffy. like there are so many margins for error and many variations on some questions. thanks for the help the ROOKIE.

Not wishing u failure but saying that the first time or 2 doesn't always work but dont give up.. what your saying sounds good, but there r all kinda factors good luck

There's a good dozen teks out there. Use the search engine and follow one to the letter.

The difference between the substances doesn't matter. This is a war on consciousness, on our right to the very essence of what we are. With no control over that, we have no need to speak of freedom or a free society. -fireseed

I find the whole "my drug should be legal but yours should be illegal" mindset disgusting and hypocritical. It's what George Bush and company do when they drink a cocktail and debate the best way to imprison marijuana users. -Diploid

This really doesn't belong in the advanced mycology section, you would get more help in the mushroom cultivation forum.
Your berries will last a long time fully colonized.
Get your bulk ingredients to field capacity, then mix them together and pasteurize.
Use whatever recipe you want. Start simple then you can complicate things if you want.
