Is this the proper way to do a monotub?

Ok. So this is for a 20 gallon tub.
I measured the dimensions at the 5" mark of the tub-- 14in width, 17.5in length.
I plan to have a 4" substrate depth, spawn ratio 1:3.
The substrate will consist of HMC Poo and Coir.
1. Pour the poo in tub, even it out
2. Pour prepared coir in, thoroughly mix with poo
3. Pour and mix enough coir in until at 4" mark
4. Pour 4 quarts of WBS spawn, mix thoroughly with poo-coir mixture
5. Pour 1 more quart of spawn for a "frosting layer" on top.
6. Cover with bag, wait 5ish days until fully colonized.
7. Put on casing, introduce FAE/fruiting conditions.
Aside from getting the proper placement of holes, is this how to do it?

Anyone?
On my previous grows I've always missed some step or did something wrong making me start over again. This one has a lot more invested in it, so I need some assurance that I'm doing it correctly and not missing or doing anything wrong.

sounds good man, just pasteurize the shit/coir mix, add the spawn, and let it colonize in the dark

The HMC poo is pre-sterilized..
The coir.. I would just need to boil it and let it cool? No pasteurization/sterilization..
I've been researching this for like the past two hours or so. It's confusing.. Every tek I've seen with coir is coir + verm or coir + something else. Then some people say coir is for substrate, not for casing and vice versa.
And speaking of casings.. I didn't even think of this the casing is going to be additional 1/2in.. should the lowest hole be touching that? So basically I should make the bottom holes at the 4 1/2in mark, and the top ones 8 inches above that?

Whenever I prepared coir in the past I always added a quart or 2 of verm to it. what you wanna do is put your coir brick and verm quart in a bucket. boil 5 quarts of water and then pour it in the bucket. stir/break up the coir brick until its broken up then just let it sit for 90 minutes. after that it should be ready for use.
Also if I were you i would probably skip the little layer of spawn on the top and just mix it all in. You'll have plenty of grain that is still at the top and then its easier to tell when its all colonized. if you have a bunch of grain on top of course thats gonna colonize real quick but then its hard to tell when everything in the middle is colonized.

I thought verm was for a casing layer, that's where I got confused I guess.
Also, why a bucket? I know the teks say buckets.. but wouldn't just a big pot with some tin foil or a lid over it work just as good?

ya you can just do it in your pot or pressure cooker. It doesn't really matter. I guess everyone says bucket cause they use their big pot to boil the watter possibly? Id also rather not fill my nice pot up with a bunch of dirt either but whatever floats your boat.

i think it's because the bucket helps the water retain heat when you put the lid on, that's something i recall reading here

yeah use the bucket and dont think your too good for rules, i bended them a little with coir, , didnt pasteurize long enough, left too much water in the field capacity rules and ended up contaminating the area, had to change location all together cause the mean green just kept crawling back, for fucks sake theres no getting rid of it, its like cockroacthes, you gotta move to get rid of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
