I was told a while back, that I shouldn't try to do a Log Tek, but wasn't given any really solid reasoning. I'm thinking I still will attempt both the Sock Log Tek:

AND:
The ones done by Colt122 or SkyPilot

I did the laundry basket tek with straw and for me it was too much of a hassle. Between finding someone to sell just one bale of straw and chopping the shit up it was too much of a pain. It fruited really well though.

I have the straw, cut it up with a weed-wacker like Hippie3 tells you to(works well if you have the right container setup and a friend to help. I have the Hydrated Lime and everything else needed, so why the hell not, considering the fruits and flushes you get off them and the fact that you can case the remains and get nearly double your take.

Cubensis can grow on straw, corn cob and other plant waste. Not as great like on manure, but it will still have very good flushes.

Why? Cubes do fine on straw.
bare.whiterabbit if you decided to do it make sure you can get hold of a weedwacker to cut the straw. I did by hand and it kept cramping up on me. Goodluck!

Yeah, that's how I went about it, like I'd said and it works fantastically, just make sure you get masks and eyewear, because the dust is fucking bitch on the eyes and throat.
I plan on adding a bit of worm shit and steer shit to the log to give it the bit it needs for awesome growth, plus I'll be using Hydrated Lime for that added 2 weeks of grace from contams and I'll still get to keep my good bacteria
