Brwnrice via honey
    #1204091 - 01/09/03 01:16 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

alright i prepared some whole brown rice by boiling according to direction. i scooped the whole rice after cooked into 3 jars. injected 5 cc into 2 and 10 cc into the other. (i had some old spores i made huney water with. used huneywater prematurely when i noticed real small white slivers.
also at the same time i injected 9 brf pf jars/ 9 days later i see growth on a few brf jars.
I shook the 3 rice jars twice but i cant tell if there mycelium growing some of the rice is whitish color but it looks like wet rice. how do i know when there rice jars are even colonizing? and how can i tell when they are done?

the reason i used so much was cause it was a grain tek and wanted to make sure to get it to germinate(had plenty of huney water, id rather use it all then throw it away. basically i added the huney water then rotated the jars till no more liquid was there all soaked up i guess.

Dont shake your rice jars until you have good growth. You will know when you have growth, if you know what mycelium looks like. I made up some millet jars and did injections of honey water from 2-10cc per jar. I labled the jars as to the amount used. After 7 days all where about the same. Excess water can play a negative role in colinization so dont inject more than you need unless your grain looks dry.
