Stalled Mycobags
    #12036646 - 02/15/10 08:48 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

OK well I inoculated 5 mycobags on 11/24 and 11/29.. yeah that long ago. I sat them at the top of my closet and they had a regular temperature of 76F. Eventually like one or two weeks ago I moved them up to my room.

They have been stalled and I have noticed no new growth in them for a long time. I think maybe they need some FAE. One of them looks almost 100% colonized with a few little brown patches here and there, so I have been exposing it to a light cycle here and there. Not sure what to do, I don't want to open them up I'm afraid of contaminating them.

How do you give mycobags FAE? I think 1 is contaminated, it smells kinda funny, but the rest seem fine to me. They are all spread out and the temp now is usually around 70F when I moved them to my room.

Somethings up they should be done colonizing by now, yeah??

do they have filter patches?

also you can take and mix the spawn up inside of the bag abit to try and get it to resume growth if you think they are healthy

then just take the bag and pull it open a bit, it'll draw some air in thru the filter, but colonizing grains doesn't need FAE just GE

OK well I was checking on the bags, no new growth still.

But I pressed down on them and they feel tough as a brick. I think they may have dried out maybe? Should I mist them? and if so how should I go about doing it? I'm sorta afraid to open the bags up if I don't have to. I have 5 dogs running around my house so I don't think the air is the cleanest.

Also there are very small black specks, like little dots, on the edge of the mycelium. My friend says he thinks they are just spores but I want to make sure they are not a contam.

Thanks
