Cloning this mushroom

Hey there! A quick question. I have a bunch of grain ready for grain-to-grain transfers, and I was thinking that instead of cloning to agar, I could just dice up some of the inner stem in front of a flow hood, and then use those pieces to inoculate some grain? I'm curious if you think this would work as a quick and easy cloning option... Thanks! Btw, this is Golden Teacher, the biggest from the first flush of small container.

I'm pretty I've seen it done somewhere on this site. I've thought of doing this as well. Keep us posted on the results.

i think that will work. but i like to take a sterile syringe and take clean biopsies of the mushroom and inject it into lc. this is how i do it. But i have read about others having good results, with what you are doing.

that second pic is cool. What's the deal with the lightning bolt from your finger to the shroom?

Hell yes, I cloned a fruit like that, tall with a big meaty stem. I was afraid the potency might be low but it wasn't, they happened to be quite potent and blued like crazy when harvested. And the thick meaty stems really help out the yields. I am getting an ounce dry off each quart of spawn from it on the first flush.

Awesome. Really cool to hear -- and that's a solid-looking stem in your pic! Mine was solid on the bottom half, a bit hollow towards the cap. An oz per quart in one flush sounds epic, I'd be thrilled with that. I'm experimenting with using from eight to ten quarts per tub (105 qt tub) spawned to about a brick and a half of coir... Still working out my pinning triggers as I'm pretty new to this. Lots of fun though!
I'll post a pic when I see if the jar colonizes! Right now there are just blue bruised chunks of flesh in the grain.

That's funny, I never noticed that! It's my magic touch (yeah right!). The pics as you may have guessed were taken in front of a space photo screensaver... Lots of fun! I love taking pictures of shrooms, almost as much as I love eating them.
