After hearing some success stories this past fall, i have been inspired to try my hand at an outdoor cyanescens patch. I took a browse around to see what spores are available. all of the spores i came across were strains of pan. cyan from tropical places like jamaica , cambodia , the philippines. are these right? is there a northern psil. cyan available ??
also would these oregon Azure's i see fruit north of the border?
big thank you to these boards!!

I think your a bit confused. Are you positive you were loooking at cyans. It sounds like you were looking at cubensis, which are a lot easier to cultivate and much more common.

Do you mean washington border, or Canada's? Not sure about Canada, but Azures do grow in WA, but are much more common in Oregon.

Are you use you didn't mix up Psilocybe cyanescens with Panaeolus cyanescens? Psilocybe cyanescens is a wood and cold loving species, that requires a moderate climate, such as in Washington or Oregon to fruit. Panaeolus cyanescens is a tropical species, that requires -what a wonder- tropical conditions. Psilocybe cyanescens, as well as Psilocybe azurescens both grow around the north border of the PNW.

i was looking at pan. cyans... all of which seemed wrong because they come from tropical zones... but you never know for sure if they dont work without asking... hence the question "is there a northern psil. cyan available?"
i know Azures dont grow wild in canada, but i wonder if any one has fruited their own patch... worth a try id say

Yea lots of people cultivate Azures. Try doing some research on the subject. There's lots of info and TEKs. Read this. This should help you a little. And about the Cyans... I dont know where to buy Ps. Cyan spores, but you could look through the sponsors, if you haven't already. Sponsors...

I think sporeworks has Ps. Cyans for sale again. I got hooked up with prints from people on this site. If you have something to trade it makes it all the easier.
