Calculate the volume of the desired depth of substrate. Then, using your desired spawn ratio, calculate the number of jars required. Make that many jars plus a few more.

Hey dude, you could at least pretend to try to do a slight little effort…
There is at least 2 calculator spreadsheet somewhere around here, and as the question is asked twice a week, I think they would pop in first place as soon as you type "how much spawn" in the search box.
Download one, put the dimensions of your tub as input, and it gives you how much spawn you need for a given ratio.
Here's one made by gornyhuy that even gives you the exact proportion of any ingredient you might want to add:

Do you have a calculator? You know one of those plastic things with the buttons and numbers and dohickies? Try using it, it may help.

Hey, I did give a pretty nice answer, despite my original intent…
The calculator is indeed way more useful than "put 3 quart in your tub".
A "56q tub" doesn't mean anything anyway. You can have lots of dimensions that would give you a 56q tub…

I can open it with Numbers or NeoOffice, and it works very well
Edit: The version "exported from google doc" works perfect, the others returns errors with NeoOffice

Thanks, I've been considering OpenOffice, but I've heard several people state that Neo is better.
That was a good answer. I was just jerking your chain with the shitstorm thing
