ECCO
Earth Coincidence Control is keepin' things coordinated Synchronicity connecting dots will make your soul illuminated Correlations making noise inside your magic brain's third ear A lesser man, no understanding, might just be inclined to fear
Lilly spoke to dolphins just to see what's on their mind And they answered back articulate, we are a friendly kind Only man would take free peace and then go turn it into war And the dolphins have to wonder, man what are you fighting for?
Isolation and salt water and pure darkness by and by And the scientist without drugs could get very very high Take what Buddhists did in centuries, compress it in an hour And you've got raw consciousness projecting petals of a flower
A metaphysic scientist, not too many such around Tapping into energy and the consciousness ground Earth Coincidence Control, would you do a favor please? Do give us another Lilly, to help cure our grave disease

The Muse
Never knowing just quite how To proceed, how does it go now? Scattered thoughts throughout the hour Rhythmically, sound out the Tao
Sounds all right but getting better Working it out to the letter Lo! the Gods be shouting out! I do hope they don't seek to fetter
Think I'm getting somewhere yet Though don't know where I want to get Am I slow or gaining speed? Seems it has begun to set
Here -- it's coming into view The wily beast he is now slew It only takes a little effort To know just what you want to do
Started with nothing, got here strong Though it isn't very long It has a rhyme it has a meter Someone go and sound the gong!

The West
The West is the best, but falling behind No plans for the future, no one seems to mind
Nowhere quite as open, nowhere so refined Yet we're slipping down into a quagmire unkind
The peak has been reached, and we're on the down-turn Getting rougher, and tougher, for our young to earn
Riches we've got, but the debt's getting bigger Cold War's at an end, but we still touch the trigger
It's tragic indeed while the fabric decays Social, that is, so integrity frays
The future is where all the action will be Our dear Western notions prepare drearily
Mammalian politics is what it comes down to God help us to gain something we'll earn renown through

The Eye
What mysterious source For destiny's wave Can the seer then save With varying force?
The all-seeing eye Keeping a dark secret Knows nothing of regret For Magicians on high
Finally there's just one Truth to be found here It is thought not to be clear Radiant as the sun
The essence of which Is sheer possibility Indeed, here mutability Disconnects from time's stitch
Subtlety boundless Disbelief so profuse No need to confuse Read all of this soundless

Genetic Latitude
Mother Nature grants us genetical latitude Indeed, 'tis the reason we're given to attitude
Behavior is not a billiard ball But it may as well be, for most if not all
Each function is like unto an organic A part, like a heart, essentially mechanic
You choose along a preordained path Paradoxical that, but impossible math
"Foreordinational freedom of will!" To sift among fallacy takes specialized skill
Ordinary souls the subject outclasses Explosions were wrought! as I sift through the ashes
The determined determinist smiles wryly As the wise old mystic makes fun of him dryly
All true moderns know the old ways are dying And are already dead, and the liars stop lying

Keep a Lid on It
Big or little conqueror It doesn't really matter Let the chaos stay at bay Tranquility will shatter
Esoteric, dark -- arcane These things must be protected Sacred, powerful, sublime A mystery projected
Mustn't get too eager yet To make intrepid difference Better just to hold, stay set Ignore excited preference
Keep a lid on things, indeed The sage must surely say We are always in a time of need But useless here today

Content
Content meant contentment Having little, wanting less Truly to the betterment Of self and other must confess
No conundrum in desire Simple pleasures are the best No complication is required Save the simplicity of rest
Setbacks, problems -- crises, even Take them all in stride They sure as hell ain't up and leavin' "Why not me?" he replied
Respect, but take less seriously The vicissitudes of living You'll find you live less furiously And instead of wanting there's having

Butterfly Order
See there a face Did it form accidentally? In theory, evidently Truth without a trace
Such remarkable beauty Selected for or maybe The caterpillar baby Lusts for future duty
Flourishing in nature Predators at bay She surely has a way Of mitigating danger
Colors, vibrant efflorescent How could they have been put there By forces random, pushing air With wings pumping incessant
The implicate suffusing Each point at every other There never was another Idea quite so confusing
Honesty requires us To relinquish old causality To acknowledge true reality Make intelligence a plus

Time Asymmetric
The dogma goes thus Effect after cause It would be a fuss To break such firm laws
But time is symmetric Or so they have told us Mathematics eclectic Would therefore not scold us
Were we to presume That effect could precede Cause -- can we assume That Nature would concede?
The future could reach Back into the past Would this be a breach Of a universe vast?
Perhaps multiversal Principles inhere thusly A stark role-reversal What about causes must be?
If indeed the whole concept Is rough and provisional Then perhaps such a precept Is at most conditional

Scorched Blossom
In the optimal the flower bursts And opens up to the scene You see, in life, there are many firsts And the blossom, it opens mean
The solar burst is fiery too To animate all life it gave But in its zeal it burns right on through And the blossom descends to its grave
What sustains destroys Light brings birth and death Two sides of a coin, it's as if God toys With bliss and fear in the same breath
"'Twas ever thus" the philosopher cries With nectar comes always some venom Each one in his cradle virtually dies The cost of living in the plenum

Robotic Love
Who loves not love? The poet inquires It goes to the loftiest heights! What bad ever comes A full life requires Someone having it there in their sights! Though others are not So rosy about it I've heard it called 'romantic fog' Or else just at best Temporary, so quit All this chatter 'bout kissing a frog And then it goes farther Harsh, blunt, is it truth? An amalgam of sex and sentimentality I'm not so sure It isn't forsooth But I've never been one for banality When one has seen love Go as haywire as I Have seen it go far in the past One wonders a bit And then thinks by an by It's just a mechanism, but vast But I have to suppose That in my good conscience I couldn't dismiss such sublime Thoughts and emotions There isn't a science Of love, as there isn't of rime

Add Age
We've never lived for a day The world spins on, indifferent Funny, time slips away And we don't know what life meant
The only rule at play Seems to be change, impermanence We surely don't have a say Despite all our dear brilliance
One man sees birth Love, beauty, possibility Another man sees death Oblivious tranquility
Yet another treads the road That winds on the razor's edge Somehow trudging with the load Along that lonesome ledge
We have the old saying 'Time stops for no one' We're but children playing With nowhere to run
Perhaps best to be keeping Death in our awareness Some feel it is sleeping Not awake, in fairness

Karmic Flux
Destiny's a funny thing Act it out in stages Justice it will surely bring If one believes the sages
Justice meaning evenness Delicately balanced scale No one can escape himself Nor of pardons avail
Cause, effect, result, connect It all is quite connected Incarnations left and right But none just yet perfected
Is judgment a compatible notion? With karmic reparations Are wrongs righted, in fairness done Punishing degradations?
In any case, the scale obeys Laws natural and cosmic One can't escape them, for they convey A truth so astronomic
