So it has been a second, and I must share my excitement.

I havent grown any mushrooms in awhile but I finally started my latest project yesterday!!! Using a fattass malabar print that a shroomery buddy sent me i knocked up 14 quarts of rye berries I am already beginning to see the birth of my mycelium friends and with any success I am hoping to birth a 55 gallon monotub. This will be the biggest project to date, as I have only worked with casing up to this point. Wish me luck!!! what are everyones opinions on the malabar as far as colonization rates and fruit sizes are concerned??? I currently have the 14 jars in the 55 gallon box with a space heater set at 70 to incubate them. any foreseeable issues with that?
Thanks for the input as always.

You shot spores yesterday and you are seeing growth today?

lol definitely not "Growth" persae. more like primordial little mycelium tails poking out of the grains. at least that is what i always thought they were? regardless i am sure there is no contam issue at the moment.

yeah but i'm sure growth from spores after a day is unheard of . unless your useing LC or germe'd spores.

Or if he used massive amounts of spores. Spores start germinating within 20 minutes, so if he has enough spores it's possible to see very minimal growth within a day.
Or it's a contamination

If he did that i'd say he's fubar'd either way.
Good luck tohim though.

ive seen them many times and never had contams before haha it was more just shared information than general concern. I actually feel quite confident about this batch. soaked it in 50/50 coffee water overnight with about 1 tablespoon gypsum. and the moisture content turned out perfectly. i used about 1.5 cc per jar with a heavily spored syringe.

hell ya bro appreciate it! i am excited to see these malabars turn out! several of the ones you sent fell apart but i made 2 nice syringes out of a nice big one that stayed perfect. i soaked 14 cups of rye in a coffee/water solution and added a tablespoon of gypsum, hopefully that will help. if this tub works out at all im sure i will be able to give some prints back to the people
i need mushrooms damnit
