Second PF attempt, can I use a monotub for cakes?

I'm gonna grow some PE and PE albino on some PF cakes, which will be my second PF tek attempt. First one went well.
I'm wondering, can I try a monotub with perlite instead of a shot gun FC?
My last FC had issues keeping a high RH, though I think this is because the container was too large (106 quart sized), and not enough perlite.
I'm thinking of getting a 60 quart sized container this time, and building it as a monotub, and putting a trashbag in the bottom to pour the perlite inside(Just to make the cleaning easier in the end).
I will have 2 racks inside to allow for the 12 cakes to sit above the perlite.
I also don't plan on abandoning the FC because it's a monotub. I will fan every time I have time through out the day.
Think it'll work? I assume it will, just wondering if anyone has any advice for the idea. Thanks guys!

yes that is fine, you should have just taped up some holes in the FC though or more perlit

A monotub is a fruiting chamber

Why don't you just spawn your cakes to coir and verm?

Hmm, well what benefit would there be to spawning the cakes to coir or verm? You mean crumble and then spawn right? I've heard of this method, though I've also heard it doesn't make a huge yield difference. Is this false?

Well more mycelium generally means more yields (all other things being equal), so yes that is false. By spawning with a 2:1 substrate:spawn ratio, your tripling your mycelium volume.
Maybe your thinking of casing? In which case yeah your right, cubes grow pretty well without a casing, and adding one has been reported to not give a huge increase in yield.

Hmm, so if I do the PF TEK, the dunk is good, but I don't need to roll? Or does it not hurt to do so anyway? Only reason I WOULDNT roll is so I can see pins arriving a little easier, but I guess it doesn't matter to much if I can see them or not, they'll come either way.
