OK...well a friend gave me some spawn...all of it contamed. So i got some spore prints made up my own syringes and made up my own WBS jars. I plan on doin grain to grain transfers and holding on to my remianing print and syringes incase something goes awry. all in all i got 3 pint jars and 3 qt. jars all jammin away. How i prepped my WBS. I floated it in water and pulled out all the sunflower seeds i could...no way on earth coulda i got it all :p. I then saoked it in a hydrogen peroxide solution for 1 hr. Stirring occasionally. Then did another rinse with water. Let drain, filled jars and PCd it for 1hr and 20 min. All the jars cooled over night then was inoculated. Looks like success so far they've had one lil shake the other day, but mainly lettin em just sit and do there own thing. Now I'm wanting to do a monotub. This is where i need some help. Hard to figure it out with so many people doing so many things different. So here we go. I took a pic of the tubs i'm going to be using. How many jars should i put into one of these tubs? Things on hand to put on top. I got horse poo (seasoned no piss smell), vermiculite, Coco coir, Jiffy seed start soil, bone meal, blood meal, perlite, powdered lime, pellet lime (very small and fast acting), greensand, and Bio-tone with mycozahie. (spelling). Any help here would be much appreciated...i know how to pasturize, but am an Living Organic mj grower so i tend to go over board with nutrients LOL So i'm not exactly sure what would be bad for this kind of growing. What ratio of spawn to substrate would i want in the bin? This is where i need some help as i seen so many people putting so many different things in wasn't sure what on hand would work good and what wouldn't. thanks for any help

ok lemme simplify my question. My first tub is going to be the verm. coir, and jiffy. Will try out the horse poo on the second tub later on. I want to keep it simple my first fruiting. How thick should my spawn be at the bottom? and how thick should the casing layer be? Sorry I was looking around monotub threads, but can't see what should be what.

make the sub 4 or 5 inches deep and don't use a casing layer for your first time.

1-4 in for spawn and no more than 1in for caseing but i do no more than 1/2in caseing.
both these had 2in sub and 1/4in caseing

thanks exactly what i needed to know. I've helped a friend with other grows. that was the one thing i missed out on what he did. Casing layer is important IMO. Tried his end crop with none and one with casing layer. difference was profound. he uses manure...but noticed contams were a lil more possible. So going simple till i add the horse poo. I've helkped him inoculate, prep the WBS, harvest, look for contams, but never was there when he got ready to fruit. I'm growing cambos i think could be amazons. friend hooked me up with the print. nice grow above exactly what i'm hoping for.
